Hi ADJ Forum!

I recently purchased some ADJ Mega PAR Profile (Black) LED lights. However I'm often using it for subtle lighting, or smooth back lighting.

However the speed setting on AF-X (color cross fade) mode is terrible.

On the slowest speed setting, it changes color about once a second!

I want the colors to change/crossfade, about once a MINUTE (as I said, very subtle lighting).

Is it possible to program a macro simply using the light? Or do I have to use a controller? Any controller that can handle a several minute long macro?

Any thoughts? Do ADJ do any other lights with longer fade times? Can't find ANY details on their website, nothing in the user guide, and I e-mailed their support address and got nothing.

ADJ .. can't say I'm too impressed.

Can anyone help? Would appreciate anyone replying! Smiler

Thank you.

Hi Andy, welcome to the forums.
Usually the idea for an intelligent light fixture is to be used on a controller which will allow you to program them to fit your vision. A lot of our controllers will achieve what you are trying to do, take a look around our controller section on the website and let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks!

I'm sorry that my lighting knowledge is not great.

Yes, the comment about controlling all of my cans did make sense.

However I read through the user guide;
http://www.americandj.com/pdffiles/rgb_3c.pdf

And still found no time reference.

The only value I could see, is next to the speed fader, which was the number 0-255. I assume that's simply that there's 255 positions that fader could be in? However doesn't tell me how long my fade time could be, or how long I could create a program/macro.

Dunno, can't say I could find this information.

Sorry to be such a pain! :P
Weird, I thought It did. But generally the speed goes from about 0 seconds to a max of about 10 minutes. so, I really wouldn't worry too much about the times. But if you want to step up to something a big bigger than the RGB3C, then check out the DMX operator 192. That you have have specifically set fade and hold times, set them once and let it run a chase. the 192 offers more flexibility for making cross fades and your own color sequences AND you can individually address your cans or group the addresses.
