Hi again everyone!

I am new to this lighting thing, and am learning myDMX. I have a few questions I would like to toss out there.

1. How do I set up a "master" fader.. to control ALL levels. Would I need to set up a duplicate scene with a fade as a step for the various intensities I wish to access? I am hoping there is an easy way to do that.

2. Using the FX Generator, how can I "reset" my fixtures so that there is a different starting position? I will have four Elation Powerspot 250's mounted on top of truss sections, so the orientation is opposite of what the FX Generator thinks it is. Any ideas on how to go about that?

I think that will solve my current issues! Thanks in advance for any ideas or advice you might have!

ok first i dont believe there is a way to set a master anything in my dmx. you can set a master dimmer level per step in the fade and hold time section (Far right section in the editor tab) but that is as far as that goes. you could simply go back to that scene and step and turn it up or down. but there is no way to control the master levels from the playback section. unless you have a midi controller and your lights have a dedicated dimmer channel.
Are you using the pan/tilt effects tab on the EFX gen or the advanced effects tab? let me know. Sincerely,
Thanks for the reply Jingles!

I suppose I can have a "master" dimmmer effect by simply creating a scene with a short delay, to give the appearance of fading in.

I have just started working with the FX Generator, and I have expiramented with both. I think I have been using the pre-set patterns from the pan/tilt tab.

One More question, how can cross-fade between scenes be accomplished? Or can it?

Thanks again!
Well not even a scene really, maybe just add a step. and make the step either black or whatever you chose.
ok well you should be able to click on a place on the grid and make it the starting point. it does that to me all the time.
for crossfades simply add a fade time for every scene you want to fade in or out. give it a try let me know. Sincerely,
