I bought two CDI 500s in January.

I was really happy with the units, but after two months, one of them started to reject discs and skipping. Eventually it stopped reading discs altogether.

I phoned up American Audio and asked them to repair it. They tell me to send it to their affiliate Sounds Distribution, which I did. When it gets there, they tell me they arent allowed to fix it (?) and sent it back to me, COD. I have to pay shipping both ways, sending this thing back and forth across the continent, for no reason.

Now I have to send it AGAIN to American Audio, and they want me to pay shipping both ways AGAIN!!!

American Audio... You guys really really suck. The shipping all over the continent that I have to pay to get this thing fixed UNDER WARRANTY is almost half the price of the unit.

There is no reason to ever buy from you again, and because you make people spend so much money on unnecessary shipping, because of YOUR MISTAKES... I have no choice but to recommend everyone avoid buying your products.

Dave,

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time. It sounds like you are in Canada. We have an independant distributor in Canada, Sounds Distribution and they are very reputable. They repair units all the time and if they cannot understand the problem, they contact us. Your dealers should have taken care of this right away, with either a direct replacement or sending the unit in themselves. I am sure that you bought it from a reputable place. The bottom line is we, and our distributors stand behind our gear. Please email me at my private email address (tomf@americandj.com) to let me know what we can do to help. Also, I will get Sounds Distribution to followup on their end to see what happened.

Thanks again for choosing American Audio

Tom
