I am using 12 LED panels as downlighters on the stage of our Village Hall, which supplement a mixture of Par 56s and other profile spots on a FOH lighting bar.

I have pre-programmed 53 separate scenes at home using MyDMX1 with the help of the 3D Visualiser. I see no evidence whatsoever of problems of 'flashing' on the Visualiser but I do 'on stage'. The problem is un-programmed 'strobing' of some (not all)of the downlighters as the new scene fades in. This quickly ceases and is definitely not due to the faders being set below 255 level. The problem does not occur with the non-LED lanterns.

I wonder if my problem is caused by the fact that I originally programmed the show on a Windows 7, 64bit laptop but am now, for various reasons, using a 32bit Windows XP netbook to 'drive' the actual show on stage. Any suggestions as to other possible causes of unwanted 'flashes' at the very of the scene would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi mate. I am using Acme LED Panels (few months old) but I have now sorted the problem.

Never having tried it befor, I was using 12 of them as downlighters abobve the stage of our local village hall. I programmed 50+ lighting scenes, none of the scenes were triggered, each one was moved on by the buttons in User Mode

A few days before the first night I went through all the 50+ scenes and introduced a brief fade to the start of each one, thinking it would make everything look really 'pro' - it certainly looked pro when viewing the 3D Visuliser.

Unfortunately, what happens when you do this (in MyDMX1) on stage is that rather than cross-fading in the way I would know it, each new scene first went to black very briefly before fading itsel in - thus appearing to 'flash'.

I removed all the fade-ins again and everything looked OK on dstafe again, if not as pro.

Thanks for you interest though. I just wonder if there is a way of using the fade facility in 'theatre stage lighting' style applications that does cross fade ah werll, backl to the user guide. Loz
