I know there are workarounds for many of these, but I'd like to see them built into the app.

First though, a question... Are you at ADJ interested in this type of feedback? And if so, is this the place to post it?

Also, I would be interested in your thoughts regarding some of my suggestions.

In no particular order:

1. A simple on/off button for fog/haze
2. A master fader to dim all lights or adjust the master intensity
3. the ability to create separate scenes, and then link them to other scenes to run simultaneously. This would be especially helpful when combining movers with Pars or other static lighting. Especially with FX applied.
4. A "flash all" button.
5. A Blackout button.
6. A way to group fixtures and then access them via sub-group fader/faders.
6. A more detailed, in-depth owners manual.

Overall, MyDMX is a great product for the money. But I think some of the things that are missing are typically found on most hardware-based control surfaces.

Depending on your response, I may continue to add to this list as I work with MyDMX. Others feel free to add to it as well.

Thanks,
Brad

You must have missed the post where I stated that no future features or functions would be added to the My DMX software. We are not adding anything to my dmx at this time. Thanks. Only bug fixes and profiles and general support. This has been a hot optic over the last year or so. Search the forums for future of my dmx or something like that. Thanks.
Sincerely,
I know I know. Let me ask you this though. do you still like the software as it is now? If so then that's good. Then your happy with your purchase and the software works as advertised yes?
See my point? no one gives free software upgrades at the price point you paid for my dmx. software development is not a cheap market by any means.
But that doesn't mean we won't ever come out with a new software option. We are ALWAYS looking to release new products. LDI is about a month away. Tons of new stuff coming down the pipe.
Sincerely,
I realize that MyDMX is a low-pricepoint product that offers a ton of bang for the buck. And yes, I am very happy with the my purchase.

I don't have a problem paying for upgrades, and if there was a MyDMX Pro, which fell somewhere in between the current version and Compu live. I'd be all over it. MyDMX is just a few tweaks away from meeting all of my needs (at least for now). but I really don't have the budget for the hot rod stuff.

I am not a DJ, I am a musician and I own the PA and lights for our show. So, just moving from a hardware based light controller to a software based setup and trying to figure out which application is best for me.

Thanks for the feedback.

Q1: On/Off for fog/haze. If your device is DMX, where's the big deal assigning a MIDI trigger for it? Or keyboard. Words better via a MIDI fader or knob controller.

Q2: Well, depending on how you want to do this, it can be as simple as I think shift clicking or is it option-clicking the fader for a type of light, and then it will affect all like fixtures. Not perfect, but not bad.

Q3: If you need this, step up to Compu Show. It does it. You can't get that type of functionality at this price break.

Q4: Flash all?

5: Blackout? Well, not exactly. I mean, if you want an ALL ZERO value scene? Sure, why not, that's what most stuff does on the low end. I have made myself a few blackouts: Snap, short fade, long fade. Trigger it via the keyboard.

Q6: Subgrouping? See Q2. Not perfect but works.

Q7: A better manual? I can't speak for ADJ, but that would be nice, but I see manuals for this type of product to be starting points for familiarization and then your creativity takes over after that.
