I have the following lights in this order:

how do i set up this light show? i drag and drop into the software in that order but the strobes won't work, on the back it says for DMX active #10 which i did but still can't control it. Also the Revo's Scan/Roll how do i set up with the dip switch...i'm pretty ignorant when it comes to DMX n software...this is actually my first set up...any help please!!!

Hey JC. did u notice the dip switch cheat sheet on the software? if not here is a pic of it.

now like i said u do not need to address them as u havethem set up. your strobe could be the last fixture in ur dmx line and be the first one addressed in the software. it doesnt matter as long as you have the addresses set on the software the same as they are addressed on the lights, so i suggest you do the following.
address your revo scan to 001, revo scan II on 005, revo roll I on 009, revo roll II on 012, and then strobe on dip switch 1,2,3,4 up and 10 up the rest will be down. then strobe number two dips 5 and 2 up and 10 up and the rest down. give that a try. sincerely,
awesome...i was able to make them work...this is what i did.
i just drag and drop one Revo into the software and name them all dip switch 1, then i drag and drop 1 Mega strobe and dip switch both 1,3,10 Up, and drag just 1 Par 64 LED and dip switch both 1,2,3

what i did i just placed one instead of dragging all 4 Revo, 2 Strobes and 2 Par 64's, that will give me 8 different functions to play, once i figure what you were telling me i just drag one of each so i have 3 on my software and just move the dip switch on the back to match. Now is there a way to just set up the lights so they can just move with the sound? or if i want to hit the strobes for a 5 sec...do i have to program too or can i just hit a key and they will work and go away, so far what i learned is that i have to create my own show and edited all the time..is it a different way to do it? thanks a lot for the help, this is awesome n sorry for the questions but as i learn i just discovered more stuff !!! lol
Hey brother, question...i have my lights running and playing with the software, but if you go to the american dj page, how can i get the lights to run on their own and having the same colors? so far i have to do it manually and create a set for each movement. also everytime i create a program and i close it i save it, but when i re-open the program is gone...the lights are there but not the sequence...i believe still at demo function...how do i set it up right?
Yes, you set it up right but you didn't SAVE!! Safe often. Save a lot. Save, save, save, save!!

And always make sure you open your universe before going to the 3D Visualizer. That nailed me once. Oops!!!

Save, save, save.

I can't say it enough, but eventually a moderator will say "knock it off, they get the point". But I have been harping on my in-laws who use my computers to SAVE OFTEN!! One did his whole term paper and didn't save, printed it, closed it down, discovered an error and had to start OVER!!!

Like what you did? Save. If in doubt, save.
Well, my thing is I don't use the "load last show" as my default thing to do for using MyDMX.

I could easily have my "open last show" option used because I'm working on my basic stage for weddings and "normal events".

I know what the original poster went through. I nailed myself on show design, the 3D visualizer, and also the gel/color setting for fixtures in the 3D Visualizer, so I got nailed quite a bit.

I need to check to see if there is an option to ask to save before closing. If not, it might be a good feature to add.

Regardless of any "slamming" I may be doing on the product, I am constantly thinking of what it is and who it is oriented for. I have made plenty of mistakes using the software and have learned fomr it. I'm definately thoroughly satisfied with my purchase.

Save often is good for any application. MyDMX is no exception. If I like what I see, I save and move on.
Missed a topic to address. But hey, I want the mega posting count!

MyDMX works the SAME in Demo mode vs. USB mode. The difference? The MyDMX hardware. Seriously, I did my work in DEMO mode, and when I plugged in the MyDMX box, it worked just the same except I can trigger the fixtures and other DMX hardware now. I didn't even need to install the software off the CD that came with the MyDMX box. I simply plugged in, let the hardware be discovered, auto-install the driver, then run MyDMX. It shows "USB mode".

So, for all using it in DEMO mode, please continue to do so, learn, design and play. Then, buy MyDMX and get the hardware and you've got one heck of a great show.
how can i set it up like the americandj.com site..? can anyone help me on how to set up my lights properly?, i need to know how to work the strobe only by a command of one butom...etc how to work the lights in series with the same color how to change automatically to strobes, get my Par 64 to work on their own...i'm to far behind but first can anyone show me how to set it up just like in the website?
thanks
Huh?

You need to go through your lights, understand what each one is capable of, and then load in your light profiles into MyDMX(or make them as applicable or ask for them to be made)

How do you set up your lights properly? I honestly haven't a clue. For me, properly changes day to day, night to night. No two situations are the same.

I can say this, I'm playing around with scene triggering via the keypad, and while not absolutely perfect for all situations, I see that being a great time saver for me.

I know i'm going to end up with hundreds of scenes pretty soon to cover all scenarios that I might run into. Of course it's impossible to trigger that many events, but at least I can manage what is going on. All about thinking outside the box.

I'd also like to recall how to easily link up my 8 64B LED's, but that's not critical right now. I have lots of linking applications that save me time for show design, but doesn't help on show day itself as I'm going to be 100% scene-based.
You want to re create the sequence in the videos? why? just program your own. that is what the nice thing about a controller is. if u want to have pre programs then try the uc3 controller that came with your set of revo's. or i could see if we have that specific program to send out to you but that might be a long shot. sincerely,
