Hi James,

The profile doesn't seem to work. The fixtures look nothing like the product, but more importantly, the colors don't work as expected (there's no red and no multi-colors).

Here's the spec from Chauvet if it will help.

I've had others use that profile on my dmx and no problems. There is red on the color wheel. The gobo's are as close as I can get as our gobo library doesn't always have exact matches. The 3D scanner is just a generic 3D model. We do not have 3D models for EVERY fixture ever made. The multi colors are not shown in the 3D as Split colors are not supported in the 3D visualizer. Sorry.
Sincerely,
Hi James,

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I've been through all 255 channels and their is no red. There is pink. I captured an image that shows the red from the Q-Spot 260 LED versus the pink on the Intimidator Scan 300 LED. Where can I send you the image capture so I can show you the contrast?
I've learned quite a bit today James. I played around in the Scan Editor for the first time. I looked at the profile you sent me and all the colors checked out with the profile data I have on file. The red still does not show up.

I tried uninstalling MyDMX and downloading the latest software from your the site. I also downloaded the entire Chauvet profile folder. Of course it included the profile you sent me. Still no luck. The red will not show up despite being properly identified in the profile. When I navigate to the red dmx range identified in the profile, the light goes black in the 3D visualizer.

My new lights will be delivered by this coming Friday. I will set one of them up to see if it's just the 3D visualizer or if I have the same issue with the light. I'll let you know.
HAHA. There is no way in hell that if you try to use red on your fixture live it will go black because that is what the 3D is doing. Smiler This is a profile bug as my dmx uses a old .ssl format and the new profile creator is more geared towards the new .ssl2 format. I'll try to correct the colors on Monday and upload a new profile for you. OK? If you don't hear from me Monday afternoon post a reminder here. Appreciate it.
Sincerely,
A quick question for you ... In MyDMX, I started creating 1 file per song because the sheer number of scenes (including those with multiple scenes created by the Effects Manager) in a show exceeded MyDMX's capabilities. My shows are for a Heavy Metal band and every song is choreographed and triggered using the User module.

How do pages work in Compu Live? Can I set up a Page per song with as many scenes (including those created by the effects module) in succession as necessary per song for a 10 song show?
Pops, here you go. These are the closest colors I could get. I tested the profile myself in the 3D all colors display. Except split colors of course as that is not supported in our 3D program.

Should be 8 ch mode ^.

Well firstly we don't really sell straight Compu Live interfaces anymore. We sell compu cue, compu SD, etc interfaces that were designed to work with Compu Show Software. Which is the absolutely best software out there today. I love it and personally use it any time I do live lighting. But compu show has a function that allows you to create "layers" on each fixture page as well as the "Master Page" (Master page is a single page that lets you program all of your different fixtures like pars, moving heads, strobe, etc in one single page to create a single scene button rather than creating say 4 different buttons intended to playback all at once.) Make sense?
Let me know if that helps.
Sincerely,
Yes, that makes sense. But I'm not sure I made myself clear. Each song is meticulously choreographed. During the performance, each scene is recorded and is triggered using the buttons in the User module of MyDMX. I had 2 problems. First, my scenes were named using a couple words from the lyrics of the song. That was an easy way for me to remember where I was. The scenes were stored in order of the lyrics of the song so it was easy to trigger them in order. The problem comes when you play the next show and the songs are in a different order. It was a bear reordering the scenes and there was no other way to do it except patiently moving them up and down in the order. Second, I thought I was able to record as many scenes as I had memory in my computer, but I was wrong. I finally exceeded the total number of scenes allowed by the program. That is why I started saving each song in it's own file. I make sure I have the transition scenes for the next song recorded at the end of the current song so that I have time to open the new song. Of course the first scene of the new song is coordinated with the last scene of the previous song.

I was hoping there was a way in the Compu Show software to logically store the scenes for a song in the correct order for quick and logical triggering with easy transitioning to the next song. I was also hoping there was a way to reorder those "song pages" when the set changed for the next show.

Does that make sense?
Oh yes compu show will allow you to create layers of buttons. And as many as you want and in the order you want aswell. So yes compu show will do everything you want and more and all in one file.
(Edited by me as for the numerous spelling mistakes my phone had posted instead of the correctly spelled one I typed up on my phone grrrr) Big Grin
Sincerely,
