Hello there I'm new to this forum and the lighting community. I basically am a sound engineer that has been faced with installing lights.
My issue is getting the ADJ Fusion Scan 250 to cooperate with the Compu Pro. It doesn't respond at all to any of the setup prompts when I use the library settings for the Fusion Scan 250.
My Setup consists of:
7 - Elation Power Spot 250 rev.
4 - ADJ Accu Roller 250
4 - ADJ Accu Spot 250 II
4 - Par 64
1 - ADJ Mega Strobe/DMX
4 - ADJ Fusion Scan 250
All except the Fusion Scans have setup and operated great.
Any help and tips for working with the Compu Pro would be greatly appreciated

Thanks jingles,
ok so in Compu Pro while adding a page for the Fusion Scanners I go through the entering of first DMX addy and number of fixtures then the next page in the setup should turn on the lamps. Nothing happens though.
The only difference with these fixtures is that the DMX address uses the dipswitches instead of the LCD readout. I've gone over the manual for the fixtures (which is vague) and have the #1 dipswitch on to activate DMX mode. So I'm assuming the addressing starts at switch #2 which would be address #1.
I have other fixtures linked in between the Scanners and they work fine so I know the cables are good.
The fixture profile in Compu Pro matches the address assignments which are showen the fixture manual.
I'm inclined to think were I'm going wrong is in the dipswitch settings.
i think that may be the issue too! also remember you are using a dmx controller so turn dipswitch #10 OFF!! here are the values for setting up dipswitches!!
dip# value.
1 = 1
2 = 2
3 = 4
4 = 8
5 = 16
6 = 32
7 = 64
8 = 128
9 = 256
10 is for non dmx control!!
see the pattern??? so for an address ofof say 48 u need to have # 10 off and dip #'s 5&6 on! under stand?? now your lights have 5 channells each so starting at channel 1 your dips for each fixture should follow like this.
fx#1 dip 1 on, fx#2 dip 4,2,1 on, fx#3 dip 5 on, and fx#4 2,3,5. under stand?? also you need to download and print this list!! (it is my cheat sheet!LOL) http://www.centerstagelighting.com/manuals/dmxchart.pdf try all that and let me know!! if anything call elation between 9 and 5 except on weekends. you guys are in the same town so it is a local call!! hit me up and let me know what happenns! peace!
jingles,
That cheat sheet is great. Jeez the time I'd spent with a paper and pencil figuring out dipswitch settings.
Ok so in the manual for the Fusion Scan it says to flip on dip switch #1 for DMX control. So is it correct to assume that switches would go as follows:

#1= DMX control
#2= 1
#3= 2
#4= 4
#5= 8
#6= 16
#7= 32
#8= 64
#9= 128
#10= no DMX
I thought 10 would be 256 but it doesn't matter, I'm not going that high.
The irritating thing is that the fixture manual simply says for DMX control, plug XLR connector into DMX input. Switch dipswitch #1 to on and refer to DMX controller instructions. Well Compu Pro's manual isn't very detailed either.
I'll print out that cheat sheet and double check my settings
no! they tell you to turn on dip #1 cause they assume you are putting the light into the first address!! dip number one is simply the dmx value of 1!!! the list i put up is the way it goes!! so dip number 1 is value of 1 and dip 2 is value of 2 and dip 3 is the value of 4. do you see the pattern?? go by the values i gave you! trust me!! if you need anything else post it here or e-mail me!!
yes please do and if you could take a few pics and e-mail them to me cause that sounds like a COOL rig!! my e-mail addy is jingles8302@yahoo.com but if this problem is not resolved by the dip switches then we might have a problem within the software settings! also when you set up the fixture page for the accu rollers did the light beams turn on in the 3D viewer window?? jingles! Big Grin
Hey Jingles, you were right.
They all work great now. Except one has a bad motor and the mirror only goes back and forth one one axis. Not very exciting Roll Eyes
Now I get to figure out this program. I haven't even started building the 3D environment. I gotta get some scenes together by Friday when this club opens. But when it aqll comes together I'll be taking photos and I'll send them to ya. Any pointers or tips or ??? for Compu Pro. I'm not a lighting guy so it's all new to me.

thanks, pQ
here is a tip and a time saver!! if you have the 2006 version of pro use the master page when creating moving scenes that use more than one type of light and always assign hot keys by clicking in the scene when it is playing and hold "ctrl" key and then press the key that you want to assign to that scene and you can even have mutiiple scenes trigger at the same time by assigning them the same exact "hot" key! for example when u have 1 scene but different lights all playing in that scene you assign the hot key to all the lights that you want to have going all together! understand? also you might want to trade in the fusion scans for like maybe the performance scans! i have one of those and they are nice! please e-mail me with anymore questions you might have or my yahoo messenger id is jingles8302! ttyl! and i look forward to those pics! PEACE!! Cool
Jingles,
thanks for the tip. I haven't quite got to that point
ie I don't even k now what you're talking about. But I'm sure it'll make sense soon enough. I'm building the 3D room right now. I'll email you any questions I have. And I will I'm sure. I'm glad I took on this gig doing lights. I've been doing sound installatioin and FOH mixing for 10 years and never gave lights a second thought. But it's nice to have to workout the issues and have success in something new
