Ok,

Something thats bugging me....

Say for example i have 4 Moving head spots. All individually assigned their own channel assignment so i can take individual control of each head.

Say the shutter i want on open, the dimmer up to full, the colour set to blue, the gobo set to "bubbles" and it rotating anti clockwise at a slow speed.

If i want every head to do this...i have to do them all individually and go through each and every one setting up each channel again and again.

BUT, is their a way that you (or Daslight!) can write into the software and allow fixture "grouping". This is where you can grab hold of multiple same type fixtures, and by smiply adjusting one, will set them all to do the same thing?

I know this may seem lazy, but when your programming a rig of movers, scans, etc over a dancefloor, its sometimes annoying when you have to spend time doing each and every fixture. By "grouping" it would be so much quicker and easier.

Plus, if you create a scene using the FX Generator, by grouping the fixtures to the same colour, gobo etc, you can then just adjust the PHASING to get slight differences quicker.

Whats your views ADJ and other mydmx users???

You can group like fixtures together. If you hold down shift and then click on say the pan channel it will pan all of those same head types. So forexamplw if u had 4 accu spots and 2 design spots and u hold shift and then click on the pan channel for the acvus it will pan all the accus at the same dmx value and not move the design spots. And the same goes for LEDs. If you move the red channels all the reds will respond the same way if you have multiple of the same product. There is a way to select different fixture types an have them all respond bit I forgot and I'll have to check it out again an let you know. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
This is a feature that has saved me countless number of repeat things.

I'm doing similar things. Say, I have 4 color changers, again, each on their own channels for individual control. And like what you want to do, let's say I make a base "white" scene, and then I want to copy it 11 times for the different colors on the color wheel. Yeah, the grouping saves me tons of time, as I'm now effectively still having to do the same thing 11 more times, but now I only have to do it 11 more times, not 11 more times for 4 fixtures.

I totally agree with your annoyance factor, but thank goodness MyDMX already takes care of it.

As far as the FX geneerator, it can do a lot. You need to play with it to really understand it. I personally save my favorite FX so I can re-use them time and time again. Right now, it's only a few, but I'm sure in time it will grow.
