DMX Channels

I was just wondering.. some of the DMX controllers I've seen out there say they can control devices with up to 32 channels.

Where the hell are there such devices? Anyone have links? The most number of channels I've seen a device use is like 5.

Just wondering.

i know of a light that has 24 dmx channels. it is entirely possible as there are many aspects of a light you can control depending on what type of light it is.

btw where in bergen county are u located??? do u work for a company there? i am close to bergen and i used to go to skool ther be4 moving, as i am currently in morris county.

I'm in Washington Township.. and no, no company. I just kinda got roped into the whole DJing thing, and realized that I like it.

My cous needed a DJ for her bday, just music... so I did it with Winamp and a laptop. =) Then one of her friends asked me to do HIS party, so I did that too. And now, one of them got me to do his Bar Mitzvah... which is gonna be Feb 9th. So, I now have a mixer, etc.. and I'm trying to work out what lights to get.

If everything works out well and I get more requests, I might start doing this professionaly and form my own company.

BTW, got a link to the 24-chan light? =)

There's a video scanner that uses 64 channels. A computer is the DMX fixtrure. DMX channels operate, mix, and manipulate the video, as well as runs the scanner that moves the image around the room. Super expensive system.

yeah, but you could easily cut about 10 of those channels. (gobo position, gobo rotate function, color function, effects position, effects rotate function, focus control, macros, could all be compressed onto other channels and there could be one CTC channel)
