How much difference is there in the sound on these machines?

i have both and they are the same,
dcd1000 imo is a better unit for outdoor daylight gigs, other then that not to much of a different, I do prefer the slot loading as oppose to the tray load.

The quality of the parts used in Velocity are much better than the 1000. Just compare them side by side and you will see what I'm talking about.

Amercian real skimped out on their new players.
