How do you activate it? I followed the directions on how to do it and its not lighting up the version number when it activates like its supposed too.

I don't know about any version number lighting up, but you can boot it into turbo mode by holding down the cue, play, and pause button on the left side of the controller.
So i just hold those down when its on or turning it on? Is there anything visual to tell that its in turbo mode
What is Turbo mode?
There are two MIDI Latency modes; Normal mode and Turbo mode. Normal mode has MIDI Latency of 10ms, this is the default mode. Turbo mode has a MIDI latency of 1ms.

There's no light or anything that indicates that you're in turbo mode. But if you do it right, it's fine.
so how can i know if i have turbo mode or not?

Not that I know of, to be honest. If you hold the three buttons, and turn the unit on, you're in turbo mode. It's pretty much impossible to screw it up.
Honestly, if you were already at 10ms latency, going below that is not going to be very noticeable, as this isn't a unit built for scratching or turntablism.
