It IS self serviceable! But, I think your problem is that the brains (control board) had it. This happens, but oh well. They run about $15-$20. You might also want to try playing with the sensativity knob. Maybe the wires on it are coming off from prolong use, and arent touching anymore. I dont know. I'm sure the light is off its warranty, so I would open it up, and make sure all the wires are touching something. If there is a loose wire, and you see where it should be, solder it back on.
The motor does a self test spin when first turned on, to check the Microphone cover it with your finger/thumb (don't tap it). this will trick the mic & circut into thinking their is bass music present. If this does not work please contact ADJ service dept. to return for repair. 1-800-322-6337

just don't put too much pressure on the mic too.

but is the light connected to any controller? Cool
