SDJ2 BPM Function

Good morning. I just picked up a SDJ2, phenomenal product. I really wish I'd had something like this 12-15 years ago when I doing mobile work regularly.

My question is about the BPM functions on the mixer. I read the manual but can't seem to figure out how the Auto BPM function works. The tap works as I would expect. But I notice the BPM readout changing over the course of house track.

Furthermore, does the unit read BPM ID3 tags?
