Im looking into getting two strong amps, I,m looking to push some bass cabinets that my crown amp couldnt handle.

my question is:

How accurate are the claims on the watts and are these amps reliable? will these amps last me a decade after constant usage?

I had a small AA amp before, but all I was pushing were two satelite 15" yamahas.

If I am spending 1 grand on each amp, I need to besure that I am not throwing my money away.

As honest as you guys canbe, Iwould like some input.

thanks guys

I am using two 15" jbl cabinets. the model slips me by at the moment, but they are big boys.

I was thinking about the AA v5001 or the v6001.
I have noticed that eaventhough some amps are powerful, the quality just isnt there.

I have some qsc's and a pair of crowns which are rated the same butnotice the sound quality is different.
Unfortunately you aren't going to get much better then Crown and QSC. Crown is considered the top amp manufacturer in the world, biggest reason being the 6 year warranty in which you can literally throw them into an ocean and Crown will fix or replace them. You also can have it repaired under warranty at a Crown certified shop.

QSC has come a long way as well. They have matched Crown's warranty, which should say something. Lab Gruppen is another big player.

Now, the above do make cheap lines, LPS and XTS come to mind. But still has the warranty behind them, they just don't sound as good or hit nearly as hard. To answer your question about AA amps, I have no experience with them unfortunately. But chances are if you are using Crown and QSC currently, I would stick to them. Maybe someone else can offer better insight into AA amps. Just my opinion, so take it with some salt Wink.
for what its worth,
I tried out the v5001 series and I was impressed. For the most part, yhis is a type of amp i am looking for, inexpensive and strong. I think I will be purchasing one(v6001) for now and buy two more more later (if it can hang with me and the abuse it will be put through).
Thanks for the info Serra!
btw, I was close to buying a crest, but testing this one sure did impress me. hopefuly it wont let me down.
