I need to create a scene that slowly fades in and DOES NOT LOOP!
Otherwise, I get the lights all faded in and then they black out and repeat said fade in. Very annoying...

double click on the "always loop" in the editor and change it to single loop
In theory, changing to single loop should work... but MYDMX 2.0 is very buggy. On my system, I get 2 loops when I select 1, 3 loops when I select 2, and 4 loops when I select 3, etc. In other words, I always get one more loop than I need.

it would be a "bug" if the software was NOT doing what it was designed to do. Good or bad, the single loop was designed to do just that...LOOP one time.... The scene plays then loops once and stops. This has been corrected to have it stop with out any "loop" however, it wasnt a bug it was simply designed with out having a single play cycle. The MyDmx program is geared towards the DJ world where you dont want scenes to run once, you want them to continue looping so you can DJ. Letting your light controller run the lighting. Selecting different looks as the night goes on. We redesigned this so now you can have single cycle vs loops...but it was never a software "bug"
