newbie individual channel operation

Ok I have a ADJ 192 board and have set up multiple lights using 6 fixtures. I have programed 8 scene's and 4 chases. Now I am thinking of getting a special effect light (say basic gobo etc. I would like to operate that light independently from my scenes since it was not used in any of my scenes, say make it pulse to the music etc. My thought is I would program to fixture 7 set a scene and them operate that light as per DMX channels on board. AM I MAKING THE CORRECT ASSUMPTION? If so, could I add a different light say on the dance floor and dedicate it to Fixture 8 and use it independently? My guess is NO since I can't opperate two different Lights with different functions at the same time using 1 board. Correct?

Hello welcome to the forums! I think if memory serves me (been a LONG time since i touched a OP. 192) that if a chase is playing and you have a fixture selected and the channels are NOT included in the chase or on the bank of scenes you are on, then it should let you "live on the fly" control that selected fixture, but i say try it, if you have everything in front of you and are curious if a certain sequence of events would work, just simply try it.
