My 23 year old cr0wn power amp has finally died. It been around 15 years since I stopped spinning records and I am looking for something to replace it. Since I have not kept up with whats out there, I'm hoping someone could give me some advise. The power amp will be connected to a pre-amp and will be pushing the sound through a pair of bose 901.

Only the RMX line of Q S C are heavy. The PL and PLX are super light and pack a major punch. I haven't tried the American Audio amps but I assume they are okay, and since tis is their forum I should reccomend them to you. So um....yeah....go get the american audio amps!

As far as power goes, get an amp that's capible of about twice the RMS power your speakers are rated at. So if your 901's are really 300W rms each, get an amp that's capible of at least 500Wrms per side. Assumeing the 901's are 8ohm, a RMX2450 or PLX 2402 would do the trick nicely. oh I mean, american audio amps would be great!
