MyDMX GO App not working with other apps?

I just purchased MyDMX GO with the expectation that I could use it in tandem with M32 Edit so I can both mix and do lighting from my iPad. However, MyDMX Go seems to stop sending anything whenever I’m not directly in the app. Is there any way to fix this? I tried the light rider app too.

The app doesn't support background tasks, it's more so an apple thing than the app development.
