matched amp loads....

ok, i was just wondering....if an amp has 2 single amps inside(1 left and 1 right) then would it be bad if i ran an 8ohm load on one channel and ran a 4ohm load on the other...or do i still have to match the loads on both channels no matter what??....

well they may have two drivers but usually one power supply and that may drive it crazy. especially if you are driving it hard

Professional amps do not have this problem. They should say something about it being able to handle mismatched loads. Most amps on the market today handle mismatched loads with the exception of the ones that were built in some old warehouse in NYC and elsewhere. I will call no names...
