I would like to start by saying I know a decent amount about lighting. I have done light plots and designs with intelligent lighting for theater and dance recitals at my local theater company. But in this case I am looking at something different.

I am looking for a light/lights to fill a smaller then 20x20 room. It would preferably be sound activated/master slave but dmx would also be a nice option although probably not going to use it and Id rather not pay extra for an option not used if possible.

I have looked at the Aggressor tri led and the Dekker LED. The Hyper Gem LED also looks nice but is kind of on the expensive side.

What light/lights would have the best effects in a room of that size for a college party, with blacklights being the fill lights.
If possible give low, medium and high budget options.

Thanks,
Mike

the truth is that you dont make it easy.for cheap sake, i would hang an original vertigo in dead center, or a mace. lightns like that pretty much fill small rooms. as far as cheap, thats the way i would go. on the othr hand, i personaly probably would never use those lights so i wouldnt spend money on them.
I would recommend a Comscan system. Simple and DMX if needed. You can then add a tripleflex or a tri-phase as a centerpiece. Total would run you closer to $600.

If you had to stay under $500 I would get a Tripleflex, and 2 Jellyfish. This will also give you DMX controlable options, as well as very simple to operate. The only drawback is that you are limited to dots.
