Hi,

New to these forums and hoping for some help.  I've been using these lights for some time always controlled by the footswitch.  At our last gig I couldn't get the footswitch to work.  The lights on the footswitch itself were lighting as usual but no change on the bar lights.  I checked I was in secondary mode as speced in the manual and that was set as usual.  I think the cable is probably okay as its lights were working as usual.  Any thoughts?

You`re welcome, well from what i believe, i think the lights either have their ''controler chip'' defective (the one controlling the footswitch and IR interface for the remote control) or maybe it is the DMX chip defective (if that handles the footswitch and IR too) .So best way to test this is to get a DMX controller (i`m talking about a physical ''desk'' controller like the one i attached in the picture) a simple one with 128 or 512 channels (the ones that have 8 or 16 or 24 faders) could be any kind or brand, and give it a try and see if the lights responds to the faders of the controller.

Hello, mr. Jim, ok so that means the dmx chip it is functioning (at least that`s half good news for you) but unfortunately (I think there is a separate chip handling the footswitch and remote control that could be defective) or in a strangely bad luck the footswitch and remote could have become defective at the same time, but I doubt that. Last thing, in case you forgot to do that you can check the battery of the remote control to see if it is not discharged. My opinion is that if the lights are in warranty period you can send them for rapairs, because there is definitley something technical wrong with them. Again, I`m not the expert I`m just a forum member hobbyst lighting guy. The expert here is mr. Jingles8302 (mr.James) .He could assist you in more detail, just mention him in a comment.
