There is a "DMX Dip Switch Setting" manual available on the American DJ web site. Go to Support > Click on "Click Here for Product Manuals" > scroll down, locate and download document called "DMX-512 Charts". All DMX devices follow the same protocol so the document is valuable for device connectivity no matter what brand it is. READ IT!!!

DJICE do you have a manual for your DMX controller? If so they usually explain how to program scenes and chases for DMX 512 devices. If not, from my experience they seem to follow the same concept for programming therefore have a look at the American DJ DMX Operator, the manual for this explains how to program your devices, it will give you some ideas on what is involved to program a lightshow for intelligent fixtures.

Programming devices is hard to describe and takes a lot of patience to get a good show programmed, unfortunately you have to teach yourself or watch someone else do it and learn one-on-one. The best way to learn to program solo is to connect only one device to the controller and program it stand alone. Once you get familiar with the concepts you can start programming multiple devices simultaneously.

The first step is getting the DMX addressing right. Once you've got the communciation right and the device is talking to the controller correctly, then the rest is up to your imagination. Good luck.

ROQ out.
well that shouldn't be the case. What fixture buttons are you trying to assign them to and what are the corresponding dip switch settings for each fixture. your using the dmx operator pro correct? If you believe there addressed correctly and you think you have the chases programmed right , you may have accidentally programmed the chase with a speed of 10 minutes meaning the chase would only step forward one step every 10 minutes. You can manually change the speed setting by holding down the chase button your running and then pressing the step/mix/sequence button while still holding down the chase button, then move the speed fader towards the top of the board to get a faster speed rate. If this still does not answer you question post again and try and be more specific as to what exactly your having trouble with/ what you would like to be able to achieve. -Mike
Ice,

If both fixtures work when you address them the same, then all you need to do is address them correctly so that one DJ Scan works as fixture #1 and the other works as fixture #2. The DMX Operator Pro doesn't have a fixture library. The controller automatically assigns 16 DMX channels to every fixture. Therefore, fixture one occupies channels 1-16, fixture two occupies channels 17-32, fixture three occupies channels 33-48, etc... So if you want to control each light individually on a separate fixture button, you must address your fixtures 16 channels apart. The dip switch settings should be set as follow:

Fixture #1 Starting address channel 1 = dip switch # 1 ON

Fixture #2 Starting address channel 17 = dip switches # 1 & 5 ON

Fixture #3 Starting address channel 33 = dip switches # 1 & 6 ON

Fixture #4 Starting address channel 49 = dip switches # 1, 5 & 6 ON

Fixture #5 Starting address channel 65 = dip switches # 1 & 7 ON

Fixture #6 Starting address channel 81 = dip switches # 1, 5 & 7 ON

Fixture #7 Starting address channel 97 = dip switches # 1, 6 & 7 ON

Fixture #8 Starting address channel 113 = dip switches # 1, 5, 6 & 7 ON

At this time you'll only need the first two fixture settings. However, I listed all the dip switch settings in the case that you might want to add additional lights to your system later. If you add a light which incorporates a digital display, then all you have to do is set the starting address channel for the given fixture- this takes the place of dip switches. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
