Hi there folks,

I recently got my hands on a set of zoom washlight moving heads.

While playing around with the built in sound to light I was already quite impressed but since I can't limit the motions it requires quite some distance to walls since they go nuts 360 degrees

So I investigated a little and found MyDMX Go and installed the app on my tablet and watches some YT vids about it. I think it got what I need, sound to light/auto disco and even more stuff to play around and most important  settings to control/limit the moving head motions and it got my lights in the database.

Since I don't own the adj wifi dmx adapter "yet" testing is a little difficult and I was only able to observe the auto mode by watching the faders for the fixtures and I noticed auto triggered changes in movements, colours. So far so good.

But I was a little surprised that the zoom fader wasn't affected by the auto mode at all so one of the key features of a zoom washlight seems totally unaffected. Is there any chance to include some zoom changes to the auto control now (perhaps I missed something) or in a future update?

Thanks for your feedback and sorry for my english^^

Best

Jan

Hi Jan, we only use movement and color and maybe strobe in the auto generated effects, but there IS a dial for Zoom channels on the main screen in the app so you can adjust zoom as you please, but no zoom channel will be mostly unaffected by any of the Auto functions. you are able to move the channel fader i nthe fixtures section for the zoom channel and then record the preset and it will zoom to that level when that preset is played back.
but if you want a Zoom effects engine, you will need to upgrade to the WMX1 MKII to get that function.

Hey Jingles, thanks for your quick response.

Yeah I saw that zoom dial of course and the faders in the fixture setting, too - I just was a little surprised about the auto mode limitations. I think some optional brightness changes (while not overriding the selected overall brighness) would be nice too for a more "vivid" automated show that runs along without user interaction.

Still I'm gonna order the DMX adapter and try it out "live" and get myself into working out some presets and stuff.

WMX1 MKII looks pretty neat but it's currently over my budget.

Hi, I received the adapter today and did a little test today.

Setup was fairly easy but I found an issue with my washlights fixtures - they keep stobe-ing at all time because the strobe fader sticks @31 even if no strobe effect is enabled. I assume the fader should be down to zero if strobe is disabled. If I move the fader down manually the light is constant but only as long as I stick with the preset and strobe isn't working of course since the fader is locked.

According to the manual of the eurolite tmh-w36 dmx channel 7 for strobe is explained like this:

0-3 no function

4-95 strobe rising speed

96-176 strobe random

177-255 pulse effect rising speed

Perhaps there's an error in the fixture config file?

Another thing I noticed is a pretty low sensitivity on the mic (android tablet).

Guess it's fine for live use and loud music but it's hardly noticing the beat if you use it at average levels. I checked it against some test recordings I tried by just talking and there came out with normal volume as expected. Would be nice to have some sort of mic gain setting here, especially for practicing in your flat^^

Another thing I haven't figured out: Is the auto mode suppose to switch between different movement\colour functions or does it stick with what is enabled?

Hi! Thanks for giving us feedback, i see the profile for the fixture and it is a few years old, perhaps there was an updated manual with updated DMX traits that we didn't see? Can you link me to the fixture manual that has the DMX chart that matches what you are seeing? I can have it fixed tomorrow in the apps library if you get it to me by then.

for auto mode the app just randomly picks a movement and color effect and sometimes strobe? It doesn't use any of the presets you've made or that exist by default.
