I saw this on ebay and thought it looked good from a specification point of view (engineer by education here). However, what do you think how useful this would be compared to par cans? Any thoughts? Thanks.
I recently ordered a pair of these guys on ebay. Not terriby bright (lumen specs listed on ebay) and the 4th dmx channel (master dimmer) is testy and tends to strobe if in the wrong position. But I must say that for the price they are pretty neat little lights. The audience wont need sunglasses, but great for small stages, window displays, small clubs / hot spots, lounges etc. Im sure if you got a dozen or so you could flood a stage.
I use them for rear projecting on a white sheet hung behind performers (one on top, one on bottom) so that the "backdrop" can change color smoothly from top to bottom.
I actually ordered from that same seller (my name = lyeogdoa) and you can see how pleased I was on their service. These things came from china in 2 days!
Thanks for the response Sam. I am going to look in to the LED solution rather than going with standard par can. The bulb lasts longer, more flexible on colors and power consumption is much less. I will have to check out the brightness but I am sure there will be a brighter LEDs coming in the future.
I just noticed that on the new catalog by American DJ, it has a couple of LED lights but I saw no specs on them. Has anyone seen it/used it to give it a quick review on it? No offense to the system I listed but I'd rather buy from someone in US for better support reasons.
