Hi,

I am a newbie to DJ mixing. I have been eying at the these two units for a while. Can someone give some advice on which i should buy? Basically, I want a mixer and that at least I can play two sources at the same time, and able to mixed and blend both and have sound effect. also, I want to hook it up to a mic and connect directly to my power speakers with RCA cable.

Thanks.

The Q-SD is an actual mixer with a little extra (SD Card reader), however, you cannot mix the Q-SD because there is only one controller/slot. An SD Card mixer, like any other mixing tool, requires 2 controllers to be able to mix.

The SDJ-2 is an actual dual controller, so you are able to mix with SDHC Cards.

Also, see my post on the forum, beware of the Q-SD since it only reads SD Cards and not SDHC.
i have played with SDJ2 for few hours. I like the small form factor and easy for transportation. also, I like the fact that it can stores multiple loops and cue points. I know this is forum for American audio, however, I was also told about gemini CDMP6000 which has USB capability, plays CDs,has line-in and record out, and the ability to scratch. Do anyone has inputs on it and how it compares to SDJ2?

SDJ2 doesn't have scratch feature, how important is that?

Thanks.

If you're planning on using USB storing device, go with another brand. SDJ-2 is amazing for SDHC cards, but is kind of below average for USB.

For the scratch feature, it's as important as how often you scratch if you ever do!!! Go with your needs, not with the number of features if you don't use them.
