yea, 16 bit movement is to accuratly place where the beam hits on the ground. So with your regular pan and tilt faders, u set the general area of where u want the light to hit. Then u use the 16 bit faders to get the beam or gobo exactly where u want it. Sure, there is smooth pan and tilt, just move the reg pan and tilt faders slower or increase fade time in the chases u run... What light are these, definatly not an american dj light.
16 bit pan/tilt requires four DMX Channels. The first two will seem like it is 8 bit and do larger incraments. The second two channels are for fine adjustment. When you record a scene that has slow scanning, the board will use all four channels to make it look really smooth.
