VMS4.1 16bit USB soundcard - can it be flashed to 24bit?

I read a post by a member that seems to have left now. Jackpot Slot Machine
In the post below he mentioned that he was able to flash the soundcard to become 24bit from 16bit. I really want to purchase a VMS4.1 but at that price with a 16bit USB soundboard it's not an option. Can anyone confirm is there is a similar Firmware flash option that will take it up to 24bit?

hm, i dont know. also, i see contradictory results when i google for vms4 + 16bit (or 24bit). seems that the 4.1 definitely has 24bit.

anyways, the mentioned user states that there would be a firmware update at release of the vms4. and actually, there was a firmware update - but i honestly dont remember if that changed anything on the usb audio side (the analog audio side was always 24bit).
