Hi, im new to this forum and would greatly appreciate any help with a problem that i have e-mailed to ADJ but up to now have not received a reply...
this is the question i have asked them...
Hi,
I have signed up but waiting to be accepted on the ADJ forum.

I am from Wales in Great Britain, so it's good to find a forum that could answer my question?
What it is... Some time ago I saw some similar profile panels from a different company on you tube, but already having ADJ Dekker lights and also the ADJ Jellyfish amongst others I checked to see if ADJ did similar panels as I have had no problem with your products and think they are brilliant! After searching the Net I ended up buying a pair of them and also a UC3 controller. This is where the disappointment lies... The lights are very bright which is good but no matter what I do the sound active is very poor!!! I've tried them stand alone close to large speakers on sound active and I'm not convinced they are responding to music or not which is very disappointing seeing that even cheap gimmick lights I have got react perfectly to the sound! I have also run them in master / slave mode through a DMX cable and still no sound active movement! I have even tried each unit as master and each unit as slave but still no good. To be honest I'm disappointed to the point I wish I never bought them which is not like me as I'm a big fan of your lights. Obviously I'm doing something wrong... I can't even get the strobe effect to work through the UC3 controller which at the moment also looks like wasted money?
Could you tell me any settings I could try in master slave mode with the two panels where I can use sound active and use the UC3 controller to make them strobe as and when needed?
Thanks for your time
Sam.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... sorry if this is posted in the wrong section..
Thanks for your time Sam.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply... Could you confirm that I need to go into the menu on the master unit and change the speed setting until it reads the number with the little "So" after it, then HOLD the menu button down? Also do you know if it is possible using the UC3 controller to make them strobe... Does it need to be in a certain set up e.g. Program number flash rate etc?
Thanks for your time Sam.
Well... finally gave up with the ADJ profile panels... Just accepted that without putting the panels directly on top of the speakers the sound active mode is basically useless!!! So today I bought an ADJ RGB 3C controller hoping that after spending another £40 I would finally be able to control the panels!!! .....ANOTHER WASTE OF MONEY!
The sound sensitivity on it is spot on, BUT the rest of it is poor... VERY POOR!
AUTO MODE... It does away with the profile panels reasonable patterns and just flashes a few random sequences of variations of the LED red, green and blue colours! BORING!
SOUND ACTIVE MODE... Very responsive... But again just flashes to the beat, NO patterns!
PROGRAMME SELECT...Again no sign of being able to select the panels own patterns, just a miss mash of flashes which make the lights look like they are faulty!
SET COLOURS...BLUE OK... RED OK... GREEN OK... The rest... I must be colour blind!
To top it off...No explanation of what the lights need to be set to in the instruction manual
So you have to search the Internet...
Described as a simple controller... SIMPLE is exactly what it is... But in my opinion not much use either?... It will simply be plugged in and thrown under the table and only used to improve the sound active mode of the panels even if its at the expense of loosing the built in sequences of the profile panels... If the mic's on the profile panel's were any use I would chuck it in the cupboard and not bother getting it out again! VERY Disappointed!!! OR IS IT ME? Perhaps ADJ would be better advertising what lights it works best with as surely it must work better with other models?
Any body got any idea's as to if I'm doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance Sam.
I have talked to a couple of the techs here and came up with some conclusions off of what you said, namely about the sound active mode. The Remote ONLY turns ON the sound active mode internal to the Pannel. There is not a mic inside the controller that will take the place of the internal one. Therefor, if you turn sound on and it becomes very responsive compaired to when the remote is not plugged in...this tells me that the sound on is not selected in the menu For it to be not sensitive unless you have it on top of the speakers also tells me that the sound mode is off or you are not playing music at a high enough level for the mic to respond. I hope this helps out, i posted earlier about how to turn on and lock the sound on function.
I really hope it's something I'm doing wrong... As I'm slowly but surely replacing all my lights etc with items produced by ADJ as I really like their build quality etc.

Two things I could really do with you confirming...

1: to make sure sound is turned on... Scroll through menu till the screen shows the number with"so" after it e.g. "7So" then press and hold the menu button for a few seconds? Also If I then go out of that screen to change the program, do I have to go back and reset the sound active mode again?

2: to use the RGB C3 controller... Do both Profile Panels need to be showing 20001 on the LCD screen? I think this is the channel for using the RGB 3C controller with these profile panels, does this sound right? Is 20001 the exact number I need showing on them both?

Thanks in advance SAM.
