I just recently purchased the pro-mixer and and noticed the pitch bend on the controller work in reverse. In other words,if I press the "+" it slows and if I press "-" it speeds up. had this happened to anyone. How do I correct. The screen version seem to work correctly. Also, has anyone ever use use the controller for, say, 30 min. then it stops responding?

go to your options and change it to reverse the pitch bend. I have 2 systems with ProMix and they both work great all night long. I can't say that about BPM..which screws up all the time. maybe it's your computer. Mine is a rackmount pc with:
2.53GHZ P4 processor w/533 system buss
1Gig Ram
240 Gigs of HD (2-120's)
Delta 410 multichannel sound card
SB audigy Soundcard
128MB Radeon dual display video card
2 Plextor 48X CDR's
windows XP Pro
Thanks, I never noticed that option before. As for what type of system, it a Athlon 2100, 256ram w/40 gig HDD. I think my actual prob is my cd burner. I recently noticed if I try to run anything off it the system with sometimes freeze temporarily. I have bunch of my mp3 on cd. I'm actually building another system, athlon 2400, 512ram, 2 sound cards(other comp only had one),40 gig HDD w/100 gig extnl HDD.
Don,
I would advise against multiple sound cards in the same system. It is very difficult to get them to work together. You will have conflicts about 90% of the time when trying this. My best advice is to get a good (not creative) multiple channel sound card. Maya, and Echo both make very good multiple channel sound cards that are very affordable.

Wow I must be extremely fortunate then, I have two systems both with dual sound cards, both Creative PCI 128s and they both worked 100% straight out of the box in defaults.

I did find however in the early days of my Pro-Mix ownership that USB sound cards like the Extigy were a waste of time and cased Pro-Mix to freeze the computer up. Someone told be that was because the Extigy uses long-word USB unique identifiers or something like that (Disclaimer: My fried-brain memory may not accurately recall extactly the syntax of the problem but its close)

not sure if i can get this thread going again after a lull of almost two years. i have just completed installation of the promix on my system. i have learned from some related threads in this forum that american dj has phased out the promix. how true is that? i hope to hear from fellow promix mp3 controller users who are actively posting in these forums.
