Unfortunately, retrofitting a Par 64 or any Par for that matter doesn't make much sense financially to me. The cost for a refit is most likely the same or close enough to it where it is simply worth it to buy an LED par and simply keep the halogen par for when halogen is desired.

As great as LEDs are and as much as I have been using them, they still have downfalls. So situations I am just always going to want or need a halogen source for a variety of reasons.
I am not real sure I understand...and I am not the typical forum member, so please work with me...

Am I to understand that you are a VP for ADJ?

And you (or rather ADJ) has developed a bulb with a single LED that will replace the ADJ ZB-500PAR64MFL?

And it will actually produce similar lumens at the same distance?

Is this a color changing bulb...OR...will I still need gels? (probably a minor issue for me)

And like other LEDs, this will require less electrical current and will operate "cooler"?

And finally, this will not cost far less than the 64BL-LED Pro? Say, a street level market price in the $50-$65 range (using the street level market price of the MR-RGB-E27IIPAK of around $30 and the same price for the ZB-500PAR64MFL (discounted retail prices) as a rough estimate of the cost for a Par 64 filament sealed bulb as a reasonable thrresh hold for a new Par-64 LED bulb.)

I think you could sell several...but the key issue is that it will have to come out with a real market price around $60-ish...

Currently I own eight Par 64 with the 500 Watt bulb (ZB-500PAR64MFL) I own six first generation American DJ Par64 LED fixtures.

I mentioned earlier that I am not a typical forum member. I am a 61 yr old retired cop that built my own live sound and stage production company in a smaller city in Oklahoma. I don't do a lot of shows, but, it keeps me busy. I get as many calls for smaller venues or outdoor acts and also a fair number of "non traditional events" such as lighting exhibitors at the Expo Hall or lighting the emcee and guest speakers at football rallys at the university. I probably provide lighting to as many children's theater programs (private schools, public schools, vacation bible school or community children's theater, etc...) as I do for outdoor concerts each year. And I get my share of small to medium venue live band events...as for "DJ" events, maybe 4 or 5 DJ related events per year. Maybe 1 or 2 "birthday parties" etc that we provice a sound system, some LED lighting and a person to control the sound, lights and "spin the records". The other "DJ events" are supporting DJs who do not own their own sound system or the event is significantly larger than their system.

So, I am not looking for a light that will put "color and movement" directly into the viewer's eyes...we do a lot of down lighting, up lighting, back lighting, stage wash and lighting strictly for illumination. So, besides price, the critical issue is whether the LED bulb will provide similar intensity and coverage at the distance that most small theaters have from fixture to subject. Typically that is a 14-25 ft throw for most fixtures doing down lighting for a theater event...

The local city government has an 720 seat auditorium/theater and conference center with a multi-purpose room (with a fire code rating of 450 people) (same facility with multiple venues inside.

The university has at least 4 theaters or performance venues with Par 64.

The high school, junior high school and several local theaters have Par 64 fixtures. The cost for utilities, the extra heat generated means higher electric bills in the 100 degree Oklahoma summers...low heat, low demand for electric are significant selling points.

I know that the City government facility would probably try to replace at least half of the current Par64 bulbs...and I would try to replace all of my traditional fixtures.

I have "stalled" buying additional LED Par64 while I waited for someone to recognize that replacement bulbs for current Par fixtures is a market that has been untouched thus far.

As it stands, I would prefer to simply buy all new Par 64 LED devices, but, if I could retrofit my current "old school" Par 64 fixtures...for around $60 each, I am raising my hand and hoping to be first in line...

Now, for a practical matter, it appears that you have not had any response for nearly 3 weeks. I am not real sure what that signifies but that jumped out at me...no serious explaination from you regarding your first two posts and no serious discussion after the replies that were posted by the others...

Just the ramblings of an old fat man...thanks for letting me play along.
