New to DJing

Hey people! I'm new here to ADJ and DJing. I've made tracks and song, even produced cds but I recently wanted to venture into DJing. I just purchased the PSX system (FOR 600 bucks brand new which I think is a great deal) as a starter set. I need an amp and some speakers. I posted this question in another section but found this section and want to ask it here instead. I'm gonna be djing live at conventions and for cd projects and for Church, so I'm on a bare bones budget right now. What kinda amp and speakers would be best on a budget, or would you suggest powered speakers. I know its long but thanks. I really like the community on here. Peace.

It's hard to give you suggestions of gear when your budget isn't known. Also how much space you have when you travel.....ie....are you using an SUV or a car or something. I would recommend powered because it's easier set up and breakdown. If you plan on doing large events then the old fashioned speaker and amp set up would work better because you can add subs to what ever speakers you decide to go with. I started with R@dio Shack 12" speakers (4 total) and one amp to get me started. I put many miles on those things. So start with what your bugdet is and decide if you will be expanding and then do your research on brands you may prefer.
