Hey everybody,

I'm a freelance writer working on a story for Bar and Beverage Magazine. Basically the gist is this: What is new and hot in turntables? I'm looking for your feedback on the American Audio systems (also for Panasonic systems if you've used them).

How are the clubs responding to the new equipment? How has computer download technology changed DJing. What's the wave of the future in turntables?

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

James,
Welcome to our little corner of the internet.

I hope we can give you some useful information for your article, but can you elaborate on some of your questions, You mentioned turntables. Are you speaking of "true vinyl" turntables, or what is referred to as a digital turntable. Meaning a CD player, that emulates a vinyl turntable. Also you asked about Panasonic. I assume you are either referring to Pionear instead, or Technics which is a branch of Panasonic.
Those questions seem kinda weird? Or is it just me. Some products that those questions are eluding to aren't yet available from American Audio. In that case we will be commenting on another company and their gear. That spells trouble in here. We know where the future is going...audio/ with visual...problem is it is new there for very expensive for the average consumer. Cool
When I first asked my questions a few days ago, I hadn't done much research on American Audio. What I'm really interested in is any comments on the following turntables:

TTD-2400
HTD 4.5
Power Drive 2.2

Again, I don't know much about this stuff, so any user comments would be really helpful.

So you want to know about vinyl TT's.

The TTD-2400, are a beginners deck. Not the greatest, but ok to start out on with a tight budget.

I have had both the PowerDrive's and the HTD's.

PowerDrives were decent. Good overall decks, good motor, and nice features at a great price.

Once the HTD's came out, I switched to them. Pretty much same features, except one of the best motors I have ever used, and the W&F is a bit more accurate. For the full story and an unbiased review of the HTD's. Check out skratchworx.com, and go to their turntable reviews.
