I need a profile for a dimmer pack.,

Eliminator Lighting
ED-15
4 channel

Using it for Starballs and Lazers that are not DMX. Basically using them for on/off funtion so I do not have to manually turn these on and off.

Thanks,

Jingles,

First off thanks for the welcome to the forums, I hope I can help a few folks out with problems and fixes we have ran into over the years.

I have read the link, even before I posted this request. So understanding MYDMX and the fuctions behind it, I am using the dimmer pack (in switch mode) just to turn on and off fixtures that are not dmx capable. For instance, when I play a first dance song, I manually turn on my Starballs because they are not dmx capable. So if I have a profile for a dimmer pack run in switch mode, I could turn on or power a channel on the dimmer pack through mydmx to turn them on. Eventually we will have dmx capable starballs but recently we have invested a lot of money in lighting and would like to utilize the "older" lights that are not dmx capable through the dimmer pack.

Any help or thoughts on this are certainly welcome.

Right but for switch mode all it really is is a icon change. You still have to drag the channel fader between 0-127 for off and 128-255 for on. so if you use the generic dimmer all you really have to do is watch the channel values. but if you really really want me to make a profile for you, let me know the values for off and on on your dimmer pack.
Sincerely,
Jingles,

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I can only use the switches on the dmx addressing to one address on the device. So for instance if I assign the device an address of 127 and drag the 4 profiles onto the grid on mydmx starting at 127, 128, 129 and 130 will this work since I have the device addressed to 127 but have 4 profiles with only one being on 127?
In my opinion there are no stupid question. Smiler The only stupid questions are the ones not asked. Big Grin

so, if you address your 4 channel dimmer pack to 127. it will occupy channels 127,128,129, and 130. SO if you use 4 of the generic profiles starting on channel 127 you will still have the same exact method of control over those channels as if you used a 4 channel profile. That is why it pointless to make a dimmer pack or switch pack profile. All it is is a icon change in the program. Make sense?
Sincerely,
