I have a huge problem here. myDMX software is fine, it still runs. MyDMX Hardware locks up or loses usb. I am using win7 on a dedicated HP laptop, USB is set to never turn off which is native on the laptop. I am using a Chauvet DataStream 4 dmx splitter. The splitter isolates each output from the input.

I can be in the middle of a show and all of a sudden the green USB light will turn off, i have to unplug my usb cable and plug it back in and everything will keep running. The red POWER LED is still on the whole time.

normally the USB light does a super fast flashing.

Also sometimes the USB light will freeze and lock on. It will not reset unless i unplug the usb cable and plug it back in, everything starts running again.

I had this same problem before i bought the chauvet DMX splitter, I used to have a mixture of dmx cables and mic cables running in a daisychain but i got rid of all those and bought ALL BRAND NEW American DJ accu-cable DMX cables.

I am running (4) ADJ Accu-Spot 250 II's. I ran from the dmx splitter of output 1 to DMX head 1 and output from head 1 to head 2. I used output 2 from the dmx splitter going to head 3 and went from head 3 output to head 4.

I dont think the problem is in the moving heads as they are isolated via the DMX Splitter.

Im thinking my DMX box is going out on the fritz

however.....what messes me up, i cannot for the life of me duplicate this issue at my house. I wire everything up exactly the same and can run thru the same thing at home and do a 6 hour test and cannot get the problem to duplicate. I thought it was an interference issue and thats why i bought all new cables and a DMX splitter.

I kinda at a loss for words.

can anyone help me out? I have had this problem for the past 3 months of shows now with the 2 monthly shows i do.

I will pick up a brand new USB cable today. I was starting to wonder if that was the problem. That is the only thing I have not replaced other than the DMX box. My local guitar center has 1 in stock if need be.

I'm using thee latest version from like 2 months ago from the site. It had the 64 bit driver already packaged in. This HP laptop is dedicated for lights and is brand new, I optimized all my power settings for maximum and nothing ever turns off unless I tell it to shutdown. The other laptop is a dedicated backup netbook, works fine but is just a small screen. It has march 2009 software and is stable 32 bit drivers. I was gonna update it but its always worked so I didn't think updating was necessary. No other software on these 2 machines but MYDMX.

Ill report back after this weekend. I have a gig Friday night and another on Saturday night.
