Midi changes mid song

Hi, I'm not sure if this is an issue with ADJ operator or with my Stagetraxx 3 app. At the top of my songs I send the correct midi message and the lights change to the correct scene. After that at any point in the song when I try to send another midi scene change nothing happens. I'm not an expert in midi so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow up: So I realized if I'm using midi note messages I needed to use messages for note on/ note off. I then tried Program Change messages and they worked just fine with no need to control note on/note off. Moving on: Now I'm trying to automate coding for chases. When I send a Note number or a Program Change calling for a chase it only pulls up the 1st scene in the chase and nothing else happens. Are there any known hacks or CC messages that can control the chase to run in auto with controls for chase speed and fade timing? I may be at the limitations of the Operator 192 board but will be sad if thats the case. Thank you
