I installed the version that was on the vms4dj.com site first. And that didn't work, so I installed it from the original disk. I had it installed on my mac mini before to use at home and it worked find. Just bought a macbook pro to replace my dell for gigs and this is the first time I seen this problem. On my fiance's I had the same problem. and on a macbook air I could only get the vdj software to recognize the controller sometimes.

It's very odd...
Contacted vdj support on this today, they believe that the new macbook pro that came out last week need to be updated to VDJ LE 7 in order for it to work, but the tech said he is not 100% on that, so today I downloaded the update and I'll be able to check tomorrow if it works. If not I'm back at square one.
Alright here is the update on my issue, and help for anyone else that stumbles on the same issue.

So the issue was that the VMS4 would not work with the new series of macbooks pros the I5/I7, Vdj would not recognize that the hardware was plugged in.

I called vdj support and after talking to a few different people they came to the conclusion that it must be that I need to download the VDJ 7 LE update and that the new mac should recognize my vms4.

So I downloaded the new version of vdj and installed it. Same issue happened. This did NOT fix my issue.

I was looking at very old postings and I found the issue from a few months ago where the vms was having distortion issues on macs, and to fix this they made a mac firmware 3.12, I downloaded 3.12 and installed it.

After the 3.12 firmware VDJ would finally recognize my vms4. Now the only problem is that only one channel will work. This is where I'm at now. I'll post if I'm able to get the rest working. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Anthony
Found the FIX!,

The problem is with the new macbook pro's usb management, I found a post regarding a similar issue with a allen and heath, and sure enough after testing the midi on the vms4 I found that is wasnt sending midi data.

The VMS4 will work when you plug it into a powered usb hub, and then into the macbook pro.

Allen and Heath was able to fix their problem through a firmware update. Who should I contact to let them know of the issue so we can get a firmware update?

I was going to PM emarx, but it seems that we cannot.

Thanks!
