So many questions so little time
hhhmmm...interesting... now about capacitors.... they say if u put one in front of a speaker....
** What you are doing is making a simple 6dB Xover. Don't try this at home it would screw up the sound if your using a brand speaker with xover built in
the amp wont see an ohm load....
** Well it still see's a load but only in the frequency that's passing through the capacitor
can u go to radioshack and pick up any 'ol cap or does it have to be a specific kind??
** Bipolar Capacitors are used in Xovers
.... and one more thing .....how come speakers(not all) that are example rated at 500w...consists of 2 woofers 250w each and a horn that is 100w.... wouldnt that equal out to 600w all together??... or do they just use the total power of the woofers??
**When you use a Xover it splits the power as well as the frequency. So most of the power is still going to the Woofers and only a little goes to the highs as they are more effecient than woofers. Read up on speaker design basics and you should understand a little more.
