Just installed an array of (24...? 26...?) Focus Flex L7 units as an overhead wash (with several satellite units for miscellany).
The color at the (ETC EOS ION Xe 12k) color picker is in a different zip code... I checked against the photometrics. The info in the console jibes with the ADJ info - but somewhere, something is getting seriously lost in translation.
When I get the instrument to (visually) around 4200K, the color picker is basically at around a 75% yellow. "Orange" is basically straight yellow, native (all emitters at 100%, which is plainly very blue-ish) is coming up as pure white.
Just wondering if any other EOS users have successfully used the color configuration to get these a little closer to reality.
My rep plot & (Augment3d) file goes out to a decent number of visiting LD's, so having these a bit more accurate would be stellar. And just having the display look something like the color of the light hitting the stage wouldn't hurt either... :-) At this point, I'm telling them to stick to color palettes that *sound* close to what they're looking for and we adjust those palettes on-site.
At some point, my next "experiment" will be to put them in 25 CMY mode and see if that doesn't match up a little better. I've gone to the extremes on the color configuration tools - but they're very new to me and I have a feeling that I'm chasing my tail.
