Hey AA,

Here's a feature request - I'd love to have a firmware update that lets me use the "shift" button as a standard MIDI button that actually sends MIDI messages, rather than changing what signals certain other buttons send.

My reasoning is this:

1. Since the VMS4 now uses Traktor, you can use MIDI modifiers within Traktor to get more extensive "shifting" functionality. Instead of shift changing the signal that only a few buttons send, it can change the functionality of every single button, knob, fader, and jog on the VMS4.

2. This allows users to have two solid rows of four buttons, instead of one row of four and another row of three. This expands mapping possibilities greatly, especially if you start thinking about using the VMS4's hotcue buttons as MIDI modifiers.

@ Punky --- I see your point but Firmware revision are reserved for issues we had on the units program and not user preferences. Don't get me wrong I see the importance of user preferences in DJ equipment we all have a very different approach and need of how things should work.

I have requested that we develop a MIDI settings control panel where user will configure MIDI setting, Audio settings.

The problem with issuing Firmware with user preferences is if an error is found you have to revise the code and issue an update or update to meet compatibility with Operation system updates. We cant cater to one firmware where shift is a hold function, one where it is a toggle, one where its a MIDI command, and other where its a MIDI command plus shift function for other keys while held down.

I know your not asking for these options but they have all been brought up by one or more people. That is why I have proposed the control setting panel instead.I need support from users like your self that need different use of the VMS4 to make it happen on this and future products.

Thank you....Keep the suggestions coming. I love to hear from people like you that what changes the game. I remember I had to tweak my first pair of 1200's to make them go faster.
