Anybody know why the DuraTruss system is rated for a 300 lb load, when the American DJ Crank-2 stands it uses are only rated for 70 lbs each? That looks like it can only handle 70lbs, right?

no because i would assume your mainly putting stress on the truss part of the rig not the stands. the reason the dura truss can hold more is cause the truss sections are made of much stronger metal and has more to it than a simple flat truss, thus allowing more weight to be put on the truss themselves. my two watts. lol peace! jingles.
The weight limit on the stands is a vertical limit, but when you have the weight distributed on a truss you spread it out, so the vertical weight directly over the truss will be less then the total weight.
