What the heck? I am trying to program DMX Operator scene changes in my sequence (cakewalk) program. For instance.........note number C0 (midi note number 1) with a velocity of 127 and a note duration of 1:000 on midi channel 14 should trigger my first programmed scene on the DMX. I already know that midi note numbers 1 (C0) thru on coincide with scenes 1 thru etc. But, the DMX operator seems to be receiving in omni (all channel) mode. I have it set to channel 14 but all of the other channels in my sequence are also triggering scenes. To add more confusion, when I change velocity settings and note durations for the note, things seem to get even crazier. Yes, when I hook up a midi keyboard and transpose it down and just simply trigger the DMX by pressing the corresponding notes, it seems to respond somewhat sensibly. I sincerely hope that American DJ would have incorporated more of an intelligent midi function to the DMX Operator. It almost looks as if the midi portion of this product is just sales pitch. What is going on? What am I doing wrong? Please Help!
Thank you.
Sincerely, Jeff

I'm having the same problem. Punch a key on a keyboard, and the corresponding MIDI note triggers the correct scene. I try it through Sonar on the same channel and note and, well at least your DMX is responding. Mine doesn't do anything.

The only way mine works is with a straight MIDI cable from keyboards OUT to the DMX's IN. When I use a PC MIDI cable plugged into the sound card's MIDI port. The DMX doesn't respond. Yet I can plug the same cable into a keyboard and it responds, so I know there's MIDI data going out over the wire. This really sucks.
