Demux

I'v ejust started working on the stage lighting at my school, and the board is older than dirt. As far as i know, the thing is held together by string and gum.

Anyway, there are three cables running from the board, one the power, the other running to the relays onstage, and the third an XLR going into an XLR labeled "Demux." Is this DMX? If not, what the heck is it?

Well I just did a google search and found loads of info on this demux.
