Hi,

Maybe this is silly, but I wonder what should happen using the channel cue-buttons.

I think that if cue for a channel is selected, I should hear the cued channel on the phones (and not on the master output).

However, I do hear the channel in the master output as well if the fader isn't all way down. Is this supposed to be that way?

If not, what could be wrong?

Regards,

Jarno

Sounds to me as if he doesn't know how to use a mixer!

The whole idea of the channels faders is that you turn them down when you're not using them.

Then you cue up your next track (with the fader down). Once it's cued, you can push the fader up again.

This is perfectly normal, and is the same on any DJ mixer.
Datatucker --- Is your VMS4 running V3.11 if not use the Firmware updater on the VDJ LE disk and download v 3.11 . To check your firmware when you power on the VMS4, The VU meter will flash the FW version. If you have V3.11 then the left meter will glow 3 led's and the right 11.

there was an issue on V3.8 where the PFL LED had midi interference causing the buttons to be in the off state this can be a reason. why you may be experiencing a source you think you have assigned to the master only to be cue'd up but the led if of. if you cue mix knob is set all the way to the left and you are running FW 3.11 on the VMS4 you should not be having this problem.
