Crashing software

I bought the MyDmx 2.0 with high expectations.
Having downloaded the software onto both of my laptops, one running XP & the other running Vista OS I was running satisfactorily initially. Then, after trying to learn the programme etc. with lights working the software went into NOT RESPONDING MODE. I am very disheartened as I expected to use this at my shows. I have done all the un-install/ re-install etc. approx. 5 times now and still have a reoccuring problem despite wiping it cleanly. I've also tried the Beta version. Please help because it looks to be a really easy and good programme.
