ANTI SKIP ON DCD-PRO400

I'VE HAD A DCD-PRO400 FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE ANTI SKIP NO LONGER WORKS. THE SLIGHTEST BUMP ON A HARDWOOD FLOOR OR EVEN BUMPING THE ROAD CASE MAY MAKE THE CD SKIP. COULD THE ANTI SKIP FEATURE WEAR OUT OR EVEN CEASE TO WORK? EVERYTHING ELSE FUNCTIONS CORRECTLY?

perhaps the laser needs to be re-aligned and the pick up needs to be cleaned

It could be the laser allignment as mentioned. OR it could be that the memory is failing. Does it happen to both sides? Even if it's out of warranty I recommend calling tech support.
