Ok now I am in the final stages of making a decision on my new cd player.

-I need to know of the most common probelms if any that current users and owners experience with the unit.

-What are the best parts and features of the machine.

-What dont you like about the unit.

-Is it durable? Do the Cue,Play buttons, etc. get loose after a while and dont react like they used to when they're pressed when the unit was new.

Please give me your honest oppinion of the machine. Thank You

McGyer...bro i have had my velocity for just over 6 months....not a heap of time, but i pound the **** out of it...have had no problems at all. Its not often that i feel like my money's well spent, but dude you seriously can't go wrong! Get a road case once you've chosen your mixer and you'll be giving it the best housing and protection it needs.

the only maintenance i've had to do is change the crossfader once and clean up some of the buttons from oils which come off your skin - pretty much just the play, cue,'in' & 'out' buttons

as far as control over your music...i haven't seen anything that compares or at least beats it(cdj-1000 looks pretty similar in features to me!). Once you get your flash cue points working and the built in sampler skills the possibilities are endless.

The fun keeps going if you have a burner to copy discs...then basically you can do some pretty amazing on-the-fly remixing. There's so much more you can do on the velocity than on vinyl. It won't take long to build up the skills and when you do, you might start to see just how much of a creative life you will get out of the velocity. Without a doubt, the best money i have ever spent on my love for music.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I plan on purchasing my cd player within the next 2 weeks. Im just looking for the lowest price right now.

Also how is the laser on the Velocity machine. I know companies like d3n0n have ****py lasers that have a tendency to skip. (You would think they could get it together for the kind of money they like to charge).

But how is the Velocity laser??? any problems reading cd's that normally work in other machines??
McGyver, as noted above by SKILZ there is a newer and improved version of the velocity available, the DCD PRO 1000, it's MAP price is $699. . . As for other brands using "****py" lasers, that is not truly the case, any player at any time can have a misalignment. But most drives in most cd players are identical to a T.
Glad to know the new laser technology is on the dcd pro 1000.

Ok lets see another question:
How does the "wheel out" sound on the DCD pro 1000 (which i will probably get). By "wheel out" I mean spinning a record backwards using your finger.

Also are the parts user replaceable if there is ever a problem when the unit is out of warranty. Can I order the parts and do the work myself?

By ****py lasers I mean the machines that I have used that have had the most problems reading cd's. And I've played on almost everything out there. I know every once in a while there would be a bad mis alignment but spending over a grand should make this very infrequent.

I must say I am getting excited about this soon to be new toy. I really hope I am satisfied.
Any places in New York city where I can demo the unit. I've demoed it before but I want to get my hands on it one last time before I make my order.
2 Year Warranty Parts and Labor, call ADJ directly. . . If you look on the American DJ Homepage there is also a link to the Parts store. . . As for the sound, you should try one out, get a feel for it, you'll love it. . . bang for the buck, it's the BEST dual cd player bringing the most to the table and keeping it withing a reasonable budget.
