wiflex issue

I have one pair of these, and they always work flawlessly at the shop. But whenever I bring them to a venue (and I've tried them at various spaces around Chicago) they will not sync up. The dmx signal is never an issue as I sometimes have 30 - 50 fixtures on a splitter, with data runs in excess of 500' total. But even when I connect the transmitter direct to the desk and have the receiver less than 20' away it still will not sync. Suggestions?

Wow. No responses.

Trying these at the house. Working fine, and I have a moving light in a direct line between transmitter and receiver. Response is dead on with no lag time. WTF
