MP3 playback?

I not sure which one or any of them allow MP3 playback or is that coming up in a firmware adjustment?

Also my friend wanted to know if he could "slip" cue with these as the platter/jog wheel is static?

He's trying to avoid spending $600+ for Denon's S-3000 or ******'s CDX-1.

I tired a similar product in ******'s Axis 9 table top player the other day at Sam Ash, but I need to spend more time with players like this before I decide myself.

I'm locked into the S-3000 or maybe the S-1000 Denons so far.

Any insight would be helpful, thanks

^^just trying it out^^

For mp3 playback, your best bet would probably be the S3000. I thought about the MP3 thing myself and was going to wait for the s1000. I just hated the fact that they didn't have any visual markers. Then I came to a conclusion that MP3s don't sound very good. So I bought the CDI-500s. Even the 5000 and 3000 feel weird to me. Why did they have to use a belt driven system to move the platter?!!

I think out of all the cdjs out right now, the only player that felt natural in the transition from vinyl to CDs is the CDX, SLDZs, and the CDI500. I was really amazed to find myself cutting up normally taking the CDI out the box. I had to get use to the CDJ1000 for a while.
as far as i know... none of our table top players are mp3 compatible.... but i will tell u this....IMO no other table top player compares to the new CDI's when it comes to bang for the buck comparison!!

((man, i sound like AA's head sales person)) Big Grin Big Grin

(ok...i think i should be quiet now)...lol
I have owned or tried all of the players you are speaking of. And Fobs speaks the truth....A Vestax rep even told me that the CDI's are by far the current "best bang for the buck" players available. I was a long time Dennon guy, but after my 2500f I started to become an American Audio guy and I can't complain. I do own the S5000's and they are great decks. The 1000's from them look very promising as an MP3 playback machine, but I must say the platters are less than desired. You have to put a ton of pressure on them, but the scratch sounds nice, it just slips allott if your not heavy handed. The Mp3 capabilities are great. So in turn, if you are really after MP3 playback, for now go with the D guys, or wait....Something may be around the corner to compete. If you want the best scratching deck available for under $500, go with the CDI-500. Plus it has a ton of extras that some of the $1000 players don't even have.

Exactly, I have to agree Stevie Ray. I have a pair of CDJ 1000s, a pair of S-3000s, a pair of Pro Scratch 2s, and a pair of CDI 500s. out of all of these tabletop units only one brand was under 500 bux! and out of ALL of these units only two gave the most for the money spent. The D guys can't compete in this market even tho they "seem" to give a lot for the money. But what about that "feild replacable rom drive"? since they have been on market I know of two people that had to replace them. CDJ's have a great scratch but no other real effects (other than reverse). So it leaves only 2 other players in the list (both from American DJ) and comparison of the two units are like night/day! On the PS2 it has the great effects as does the CDI. But on the CDI it does beat measuring, and it gives you a reference point on the disk (IE: dial indicator). The CDI costs around the same as the PS2 but it is like having a CDJ combined with a PS2. Go lay your hands on one at the local DJ store and check it out for yourself. If possible compare it to every CD player they have. Then make an educated decision, you'll soon see what the buzz is all about. Sorry bout the long post but I do hope it helps.

And what about the CDI300 the scratchin' sound is the same isn't it?? Cuz' I'm planning to buy one! What his price btw cuz when it's almost the same price as the CDI500 i'm going to save more for the 500!!! I'm only 14 and don't have a boss giving me $$, I don't even belong to a company (like corbett).
