Obviously I'll have to eBay this stuff then, but I still need advice on if it's worth the time. Basically I have a lot of halogen based gear up in a large bowling alley we use for weekend rock -n- bowl. The problem is the original installer didn't have a clue and spread it out so none of it really has much impact. The used stuff I want to get rid of is half a dozen Scan 250's and three HexStars. I want to convert to a couple Quad Gems which I think will provide a lot more visual impact..

All the stuff works fine although the Hexstars need new bulbs. The question is if it's worth the time pulling all the stuff down, cleaning the mirrors, and taking a picture of it for eBay purposes if I can't get enough cash to buy a couple Quad Gems.
What about a local music store or like a pawn shop? the scan 250's you probably wont get much for as they are old. hexstars maybe but u need bulbs which cost like 180 a piece. and i really dont think you would run into much luck here. those are my two watts. p.s. i havent asked anybody cause they are always so busy but ill try. but again i really doubt they will approve the idea. Sincerely,
I'll try the music shop idea.....

Also, a replacement lamp for the Hexstar is only $15.00. Maybe $180 for a 500 watt Xenon :-)

In any case, if I keep the Hexstars I'll retrofit the lamp house with six 50watt MR-16's, which will be a lot brighter, use less power, and last longer. I have no idea why the engineers at ADJ insisted on using all those double ended halogen bulbs when MR-16's throw way more light in specific directions. I have a couple ancient double-derby's I retrofitted with 250watt MR-16's and they are awesome.
